Upcoming Events

Saturday, April 5, 6-9pm, free, SF Community Music Center/MAPP, with Salsa Dancing to live music!

Location: SF Community Music Center, 544 Capp (between 20th and 21st Streets), SF

Includes short absolute beginning lessons with Alex and I. Click on that link to see the schedule for the evening. There are 2 rooms with live music, one will have jazz music for listening to, and one will have music that you can salsa to. This is an event you can bring anyone, any age, to…they can Salsa dance anyway they like. There are chairs and a nice courtyard so you can relax and listen to the music when not dancing. Some people bring their kids, some their parents, wheelchair accessible.

Saturday, April 19, 11am - 4pm, free. Blossom International Folk Dance Festival

Location: CCSF Wellness Center, Ocean Avenue at Howth, Performance Theater #301

This free event will include a beginner dance class, taught mostly by me, from 11-12 and open dancing until 4pm…and there will be live music! Marguerite Fishman is scheduled to attend and teach a dance at the lesson, as is Craig Blackstone. Gail Barton may be there…and many of the folk dancers you may have met at CCSF dance classes and performances over the years will be there! And, as I always say…share the news and invite others! This is the last Blossom Festival that will be held at CCSF due to the college no longer offer folk or partner dance classes.

Saturday, May 10, CCSF Social Dance Party (Our last one, for real this time.)

Location: CCSF Wellness Center, Ocean Avenue at Howth, Performance Theater #301

Please join us for a celebration of the years we've danced together at CCSF, to include dancing, a healthy-ish potluck, and a short performance! This is the last dance party I’ll be organizing, at CCSF as I no longer work there and do not think I’ll be rehired. Please help spread the word about the party! The event is free and folks can donate to CCSF Dance as desired. I am still looking for 1-2 more performances pieces…any form of dance or movement, or maybe musical. Please let me know if you are interested. The overall performance will be short - about 30 minutes, but I want to pay homage to the years we did the CCSF Low-Tech Performance!
